The development of the prototype of a functional composite with by-products of fibrous hemp processing
The goal of the project is to create the prototype of a functional composite with by-products of hemp fibrous processing with desirable properties of texture and antioxidant and antimicrobial activity, reducing the amount of PVC plastic from 6 to 10 percent, compensating its amount with an environmentally friendly, biodegradable component of fibrous hemp from renewable sources of fibrous hemp.
EU PROJECTS
The goal of the project is to create the prototype of a functional composite with by-products of hemp fibrous processing with desirable properties of texture and antioxidant and antimicrobial activity, reducing the amount of PVC plastic from 6 to 10 percent, compensating its amount with an environmentally friendly, biodegradable component of fibrous hemp from renewable sources of fibrous hemp.
Project description: The project aims to reduce the amount of used plastic by creating a biocomposite with the by-products of fiber hemp processing. The projects address the issue of plastics and waste reduction under the Progress Instrument "Encouraging companies to move towards a climate neutral economy". During the project, the prototype of environmentally friendly product will be created which will be intended for the conservation of natural resources, the promotion of waste-free production, waste reuse and (or) recycling, the reduction of negative impact on the environment due to sewage pollution and waste generation. The negative impact of product (its production, usage and recycling) to environment should be lower than the negative impact of alternative products. Planned activities: creation or substantial improvement of environmentally friendly product prototypes that meet the completed 6 TRL.
Project duration: 2023-07 – 2024-07
Project budget is 49 593.60 EUR of which 39 674.88 EUR are European Union funds.
